Fed up of your ISP???
Three quarters of people are paying too much for broadband because switching suppliers is complicated and time-consuming. As of last week, any customer who wants to move to another broadband company must be given a unique code number that speeds up the process. This is called a MAC CODE (Migrations Authority Code).
Many suppliers drag their feet when asked for the code while others do not use Macs, which can mean a gap of weeks without an internet connection.
Under the new Ofcom regulations, broadband companies have to use Macs – and release the codes within five days of being asked.
Changing ISP's
Step 1 -
Contact your current Broadband provider and ask for your MAC CODE (Migrations Authority Code)
A MAC Code is used to authenticate the migration request from your existing Internet Service Provider to your new Internet Service Provider. When requesting your MAC code from your existing ISP you will need to ensure that you make your existing ISP aware that you are switching to anothr company and that you do not want your ADSL service cancelled until the transfer has been completed.
Step 2 -
Contact you new ISP and give them the MAC CODE. Once your order has been placed, leave the rest to your new ISP and in 7-10 working days later your line will switch over to new ISP with no loss of service.
